Teaching Highlights
• God is the solo architect who transforms chaos into a perfectly ordered home for His glory and our good.
• The creation "days" are presented as narrative history, inviting us to see God’s work days as the foundation of creation.
• God's boundaries are an act of love; just as He restrained the chaotic waters to create a space for life, His commands create a space for human thriving.
• All creation begins and ends with light; we are called to orient our lives around Jesus, the true light whose glory will one day replace the sun completely.
• True spiritual fruitfulness requires being rooted in Christ and allowing the Spirit to reorder our internal chaos into a new creation.

Teaching Highlights
The sun and moon are functional for keeping time and seasons, but their deeper purpose is to dynamically declare the glory of our infinitely creative God.
Every single human being possesses inherent dignity and value from the moment of conception, because our worth is fundamentally rooted in our God-given identity as image bearers rather than our own performance.
In contrast to the ancient Near East myths where false gods demanded that humans build and furnish a temple, our sovereign Creator needed no human hands to build a temple because He established the foundations of the earth and rested as King over His finished masterpiece.
Though the historical image of God in humanity has been severely marred by the brokenness of sin, Jesus Christ serves as the perfect image and ultimate solution, offering true rest to all who lay down their burdens at His feet.

Moving out of the cosmic overview of the opening chapters, Moses brings us up close and personal with the personal, covenant-keeping God who breaths life into a man made from the dust, gives him good work, and gives him good companionship.
Identity in Our Being (vv. 5–9): What it means to be formed from humble dust but filled with divine breath.
Identity in Our Work (vv. 10–17): Why labor is a pre-fall, good thing, and how the Gospel allows us to work from approval instead of for approval.
Identity in Our Relations (vv. 18–25): Dismantling cultural confusion around gender, singleness, and the permanent covenant of marriage.

In this sermon on Genesis 4:1-16 preached on June 7, 2026, we see how sin corrupts our hearts and drives us to reject God's correction.
Cain's example exposes how pride warps our relationship with God into a transactional contract, how our unchecked anger against our Creator inevitably leaks out onto His nearest image-bearers, and how true restoration is found only when we humbly repent and submit to the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ.

In this sermon, we explore Genesis 4:17–5:32 to contrast the family lines of Cain and Seth, revealing how the kingdoms of men fade while the Kingdom of Heaven leaves an eternal legacy.
A Legacy of Decay: Looking at Cain's genealogy (Genesis 4:17–24), we see how rapid technological and cultural advancement quickly descends into moral chaos, pride, and depravity when humanity tries to establish itself without God.
A Legacy of Faith: Turning to the lineage of Seth (Genesis 4:25–5:20), we witness a contrasting legacy marked by humility and faith, where a new generation chooses to reject worldly pride and instead call upon and proclaim the name of the Lord.
A Personal Walk with God: Examining the life of Enoch (Genesis 5:21–24), we are given a unique example of someone who did not merely live obediently, but walked in close, personal friendship with God, offering us a radical invitation to examine our own walk with Him.

Delivered on July 5, 2026, this sermon explores what it means to be blessed by looking at the unearned grace given to Abram and his active, faith-filled response of obedience and bold worship.
The Nature of Blessing: Discover how God's blessing is rooted entirely in His unearned grace and favor, ultimately fulfilled in belonging to Jesus Christ, rather than the self-serving definitions of wealth or comfort offered by the world.
A Living Faith: Examine how real faith is proven by step-by-step action and obedience to God's word. Obedient action is the evidence of a living faith.
Worship: Learn from Abram's example of reclaiming idolatrous spaces by building altars of worship and boldly proclaiming the goodness of the true God in a land full of idols.
