Galatians 4:1–11 — No Turning Back
Why would we ever want to go back to slavery after becoming sons and daughters of God? Paul’s urgent warning reminds us that salvation in Christ must never be mixed with old patterns of performance, law, or self-reliance.
Originally preached to Ekklesia Churches by Dan on March 23, 2025.
This message from Galatians 4:1–11 calls believers to rejoice in their full adoption as heirs with Christ — and to resist every temptation to return to empty, enslaving ways of life.
Teaching Highlights:
-
In Christ, we are adopted as sons and heirs — fully free and fully loved.
-
Maturity in faith means leaving behind childish slavery to sin and self.
-
God’s Spirit within us moves our hearts to cry out, “Abba, Father!”
-
Turning back to legalism or old idols is a rejection of the freedom Christ purchased.
When we fix our eyes on Jesus, the lure of our old lives grows dim.
